The following are the minimum qualifications for all Police applicants:

• Must be at least 20 years, 6 months of age
• Must have a high school diploma or G. E. D
• Must pass physical agility test and written examination
• Must pass psychological and medical examinations
• Must pass oral interview and background investigation, including a polygraph examination
• Must be willing to complete compulsory academy training standards as required by DCJS, unless already certified through DCJS as a law enforcement officer
